Born to Enfred and Elsie Danielson in Trade Lake, Wisconsin. June went to grade school in Round Lake, Wisconsin and high school in Frederic, Wisconsin. In high school she was active in 4H and majored in milk stock, she won prizes in state and county Fairs.
During the war she got a job at an ammunition plant in New Brighton, Minnesota where she majored in tracer bullets. She transferred to Portland, Oregon Kaiser Shipyard where she was a welder and majored in handrails. June travelled a lot; on one of her trips she met Robert Sample. This led to courtship and marriage in December 1945. From their union came a son, Douglas and daughter, Sandra. After the war she and Robert travelled to West Linn, OR where Robert found a job at a paper mill. June did daycare and later a job at West Linn Inn. She was a member of Tri-City Baptist Temple in Gladstone, Oregon.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; son, Douglas; daughter, Sandi Vandyne; sister, Margaret Curry; brother, Donald Danielson, four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
