Joyce Marie Dyer passed away peacefully to be with her Heavenly Father on May 4, 2022, at the age of 77.
Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on December 11, 1944, Joyce was the daughter of Novena and Harold Neal and the "middle child" of sisters, Shirley and Patsy.
Married at age 18, Joyce spent 50 years with the love of her life, Don Dyer. Prior to their engagement, Don and Joyce corresponded over many love letters where Don referred to Joyce as "darling" and continued to until he passed in 2012. Joyce was in beauty school prior to their engagement but spent most of her life as a homemaker and servant for the local Church of Christ where Don preached. Joyce and Don were blessed with two sons, Bill and Paul.
Joyce is survived by her sisters, Shirley McGuire and Patsy Benton; son and daughter-in-law; Bill and Laura Dyer; son, Paul Dyer; three granddaughters, Jade, Jewell and Jem; and three great-grandchildren.
Joyce was a friend to many and adored by all who knew her. She enjoyed singing, shopping for antiques, tea parties, hosting and feeding friends and family, reading her bible and most of all spending time with her loved ones. Joyce would often say "things don't matter, people matter" and her love was evident.
The family held a private graveside service at Forestvale Memorial Park in Oakridge Oregon on May 8, 2022. A celebration of life will be coordinated in the coming weeks for all to attend.
