Joyce Irene Coulter
March 19, 1930 — July 25, 2014
Joyce was born in Roseburg, Oregon to Harold and Vera Peterson. She grew up in Roseburg, Oakland, and Lake Oswego, Oregon, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon in 1948.
She worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance for several years, until she married Peter Gray in 1951, and gave birth to two children, Jeffrey Gray and Kathleen Gray.
In 1959, Joyce remarried Lloyd Coulter, who brought two additional daughters to the family, Sheila Coulter and Sheryl Coulter. The couple later added one more child, Loren Coulter.
The Coulters operated a small family printing company, where Joyce worked as bookkeeper and secretary.
Joyce and Lloyd were avid boaters, and Joyce enjoyed yard work and gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and 11great-grandchildren. One brother, Russell Peterson preceded her in death.
