Josephine Marrs

March 19, 1937 — August 19, 2021

Josie was born on March 19, 1937 in Midland, Texas to Andrés and Carmen Martinez.

She was the doting mother to five children; Harry, Samuel, Sandra, Michele, and Emma. Josie shared her love, compassion, and selfless servitude with her kids. That selfless service led her to become a Spanish interpreter for Clackamas County, which she retired from after 12 years. She met Jim Marrs at the age 41 and two years later, married him. 43 of her 84 years she spent by his side. In those years, they raised children, traveled, and shared many fishing trips.

She was the grandmother to 9 grandchildren and the great-grandmother to 4 great-grandchildren. Josie was a talented artist, and spent many hours and days behind a brush painting on canvas, pottery, and sculptures.

Josie knew and loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be dearly missed and remembered until we are reunited again in His Kingdom.

A visitation will be held Wednesday August 25th from 1:00-5:00 PM at Stehn Family Chapels. The following day will be her funeral service, Thursday August 26 at 11:00 AM.
