John William Neff was born April 26, 1921 to Frank and Leona Neff in Modale, Iowa. After graduating from High School, he came to Oregon and worked in the ship yards as a welder where he lost his left eye in an accident. During the war, her went into limited service stationed at Fort Douglas, Utah and Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. He came back to Oregon in 1946 and worked in several logging camps and for the City of Portland Water Bureau until his retirement. He married Ruth Sucraw in 1946. She passed away in 1994. He enjoyed bowling and working in his yard. He is survived by two brothers: Charles in Modale, Iowa and David in Peyton, Colorado and a long time friend Arneta Lonzway. Memorial Services are pending at this time. Private Entombment will be in the Portland Memorial Mausoleum."",
