Joan was involved in many activities with her friends and in the community, but it was her children and grandchildren that meant the the world to her.
She attended school in Portland where she made friendships that have lasted a lifetime. They had a lot of fun together and when she became too ill to participate in beach trips or lunch dates, they continued to visit her until her passing.
She worked as an Office Manager for Clackamas County Social Services.
She was a member of the Susannah Lee Barlow Chapter, DAR, a member of the Governors Commission where she advocated for the elderly and disabled, and was a member of The Milwaukie Center Board.
She was always involved in the PTA and in her younger years she regularly attended St John's where she served on the vestry and Altar Guild as well as other committees.
It was at a ball game where you'd find her in the summers. Whether it was traveling to Eugene, St. Helens, Vancouver all in one weekend to support all of her kids playing, she never hesitated to drive back and forth to games.
She loved the game and spent years cheering us on. Until.she became too ill to attend she was supportive of her grandkids at their ball games, school plays and other activities they participated in.
She loved her grandchildren and was very proud of each and every one of them.
She will be very missed.
She is survived by her four children, Michael Staley, Steven Staley and Debbie, Erin Harrison and Chris, and William Staley.
She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
