Jerry Lee Collingwood

Jerry Lee Collingwood of Portland, Oregon, left us on September 9, 2023, at the age of 84.
He was born August 13, 1939, in Williamsburg, Iowa, son of the late Lorenzo Collingwood and Gladys Myers. After serving in the US Army, Jerry married Joan Wood. They had three children, son, Brett, daughter, Tara, and son, Chad. Jerry and Joan later divorced.
Jerry spent most of his working years as Administrator of Finance for educational institutions: Northeast Iowa Technical Institute (NITI), Calmar, Iowa; Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), Des Moines, Iowa; and Madison Area Technical College (MATC), Madison, Wisconsin.
Jerry and his second wife, Jackie, retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 2003, where Jerry, an avid fisherman, planned to fish all the many lakes in the area. However, just two years into retirement, Jerry suffered a stroke from which he never fully recovered.
Jerry is survived by his sister, Shirley Schmidt (children, John and Loren); brother, Eldon and wife, Susan (children, Emily and Josh); son, Brett and wife, Jo (children, Sean, Logan and Joey); daughter, Tara (children, Chelsea and Megan); and his wife of 43 years, Jackie (children, Vaune, Karleen and Michele Kalec).
Jerry's ashes were interred at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon on April 19, 2024 with his family in attendance.
