Jeanne Audrey Lee

June 18, 1936 — January 17, 2015

Jeanne Lee passed from this life on January 17, 2015 after a long illness. She was born to Elmer and Mary (Farra) Wells on June 18, 1936 in Medford, Oregon. She was one of eight children: Gayle, Jack, Farral, Audrey and Toni who survive her. Two brothers, Ward and Kent, and her parents predeceased her.

Married to Robert Harris, they had five children: David, Bret, Ellen and Monte, with a daughter, Rene that lived only a short time. Jeanne was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. Later, Jeanne and Robert divorced. Some years later she married Melvin Fisher and again, later, John Lee, both deceased.

Music was one of her greatest joys. For many years Jeanne carried her guitar just about everywhere she went. After her children were raised, she enjoyed volunteering during children's music hour at the library and also at a daycare program called "Lollipop Kids", inspiring kids to play and enjoy music.

Although she did not finish high school with her class, several years later she returned to school and earned her high school diploma at Washington High School, all while caring for her growing family.

Being somewhat of a free spirit, Jeanne enjoyed all things in nature. She enjoyed the great outdoors, her chickens, flowers, and especially butterflies. If you had any kind of illness, she would fix you up with some kind of tonic or tea to make you all better and from all natural ingredients you can be sure!

At different times, Jeanne worked several jobs away from home, but her main focus and mission in life was caring for her family. She recognized and supported her children in every way possible.

A woman of strong faith, she never wavered in that faith in spite of the many challenges she faced every day. Declining health these past few years did not keep her from attending Sunday services on a regular basis. Thanks to her son, Monte, and Grandson, Lee, for making it possible for the often difficult trip to church weekly. Monte was very attentive to his mother and visited almost daily during her many months of illness. Special recognition also to sisters Gayle, Toni and Farral, for staying by her side in her final days. David and Sherry, Bret and Carla, and Ellen were also there for her and stayed close during the difficult last days.

She will be greatly missed by her children, family members and friends. May she reach her final destination on the wings of a butterfly smiling, happy and playing her beloved guitar.
