Jeanette R. Sevigny, 97, a resident of the Milwaukie community died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Avamere Specialty Care in West Linn. Rosary and Mass of the Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Milwaukie, with Reverend Maxy D\u0027Costa as the Celebrant. Family and Friends will gather at Peake Funeral Chapel for a luncheon immediately following the Mass. 1925 SE Scott St. Milwaukie, OR. Burial Rites and Vault Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Jeanette Rose Sevigny was born July 17, 1914 in Grafton, North Dakota to Francis \u0026quot;Frank\u0026quot; De Sautel and Malvina Lessard DeSautel. She was raised and educated in Grafton, where she grew up on her Grandparents family farm. In 1950 the family moved to their own farm until 1959 when she moved into town. She began working in the local hospital as a cook. Jeanette then joined the staff at the Grafton State School where she worked as a seamstress for almost twenty years. Jeanette was united in marriage to Francis Sevigny on November 12, 1934 in Grafton. They celebrated sixty-three years of life together and raised six children before he preceded her in death in 1997. Jeanette and Frank retired and then moved to Oregon in 1978 to be near their children. They settled in the Jennings Lodge area of Milwaukie. They were very active in the Gladstone Senior Center for many years. They played cards, served on several committees and made many good friends. They enjoyed traveling and went to Hawaii to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. They made several fun trips with the group of senior friends, as well as to Arizona and Texas. Among her personal interests Jeanette truly enjoyed sewing. She made most of her own clothes and many things for gifts to her family and friends. She enjoyed arts and crafts, but her most recent artistic skill was her oil paintings. She was a gifted artist and left many beautiful paintings for her family to cherish. Jeanette was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, three of her children; Duane and David Sevigny and daughter, Paulette Evenson. Survivors include her three children; daughter, Beverly Brown, Milwaukie, Kieth and Judy Sevigny of Milwaukie, and Charlene Musgrave of Wauconda, Washington. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, Many great grandchildren and several great-great- grandchildren. The family suggests that remembrances maybe contributions made to the Alzheimers Research Foundation in her memory. Services are entrusted to Peake Funeral Chapel."",
