Jean was born and raised a farm girl in Carver. She married Marvin (Red) Allen on November 12, 1947. Together they lived in the Oregon countryside and raised three children Jerri, Steve and Betsy on a busy farm.
She had a great love for horses, dogs, cats and all animals, and of course for her family. Her baking and wedding cakes were famous in the area. Her family and friends have many stories about her life on the farm.
Although Jean and Red retired from active farm life in the '80s, work on their property never stopped. They also enjoyed many road trips together with family and animals. She was particularly fond of the Oregon and Washington Coast. Through the years she took many photos and was quite fond of family genealogy and stories. She loved hymns and became quite proficient at playing the organ.
Jean's legacy as a devoted wife, loving mother and accomplished farmer lives through her family, animals and land. She is greatly loved and missed, but will never be forgotten. Her soul will be with us forever.
