Jane Elizabeth Worthington passed away on December 4th, 2022, at the age of 84 at Providence Willamette Falls Hospital. She was born in Portland, Oregon on August 29th, to Vinnie and Mary Bell.
Jane graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1956 and went on to attend Eastern Oregon College where she received a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1960. She taught a year at Pilot Rock Elementary School and then moved back to Milwaukie, Oregon with her husband Clancy Worthington.
Clancy was the love of her life, and they married July 10th, 1960. They had two children, a daughter Tammy Olson (fiancé, David Rudishauser) and son Tim Worthington (wife, Traci). She has 3 grandsons who were the light of her life: Shane Olson, Andrew Worthington and Evan Worthington. She has many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Her brother, Robert Bell proceeded her in death.
Jane loved being with family and her lifelong friends. She lived her life full of love for everyone and had a smile that radiated that love. She volunteered in the children's education program at Milwaukie Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for over 25 years. She also donated her time to the Backpack Buddies Program with the North Clackamas School District. In her earlier years she was a substitute teacher for a while in the North Clackamas School District. She also worked at Butterfly Tours and Milwaukie Travel & Cruise Center for "fun".
A memorial service will be at 11am Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Milwaukie Lutheran Church at 3810 SE Lake Road, Milwaukie, Oregon. Donations on Jane's behalf can be made to the BackPack Buddies Program or to the Milwaukie Lutheran Church. (Scroll down for more information.)
