Jan Slade Oberg

Jan Slade Oberg, 73, of Milwaukie, Oregon passed peacefully surrounded by his family, on Friday, August 30, 2013. Jan was born July 9, 1940 in Olympia, Washington to Rudolph and Guinevere (Harmon) Oberg. He graduated from John R. Rogers High School in Spokane in1958 and from Washington State University in 1962. Jan was a 30 year career educator in the North Clackamas School District, first as a 6th grade teacher and then as an elementary principal. Jan had a love for guitars, reading, organizing vacations, attending his grandchildren\u0027s games and performances, and spending quality time with those he loved. Jan is survived by his wife Judy, son Tim (Holly) Oberg and children Madison and Jackson, daughter Tracey (John) Grant and children Kelley and Allie, stepson Russ (Debbie) Mounce and their daughter Alayna, stepson Tygh (Candace) Erickson, daughter-in-law Sue Schaber, and children Alec, Tamara, Cody and Shania. A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, September 21 at Faith on Hill Church, 3615 SE Hill Road, Milwaukie, Oregon 97267. Pastor Bob Bletscher will be officiating.
