James Leonard Waymire

November 8, 1923 — April 30, 2015

James Leonard Waymire passed away on April 30th at the age of 91. Jim was born on November 8th, 1923, in St. John\u0027s, Oregon to parents Glenn C. Waymire and Mabel (nee Evans). He was a life-long Oregonian. He attended Marysville Elementary and later graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in 1944. He then served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He trained as an Armor Gunner, serving as a Waist and Tail Gunner on B17s while stationed at Bassingbourn airbase north of London. Once the war was over, he returned to Portland. He married Ronnie Livengood on June 28th, 1946 at St. Stephen\u0027s Cathedral. Around this time, he also began his career as a homebuilder. He would eventually build around 300 homes in the Milwaukie and Gladstone area, including his own home that he built in 1961 in Milwaukie. He would live in that home on Wichita Avenue for the rest of his life. Jim is survived by his daughters; Janis, Linda, Cecelia, Toni, and Cindy as well as his brother, Pete. He has six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and his son, Christopher. Graveside services will be held at Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn, OR on May 9th at 11am."",
