James Earl ""Jimmy"" Staley

March 5, 1966 — March 1, 2017

James "Jimmy" Earl Staley, Jr. was born to James "Jim" Earl Staley, Sr. (1940 to 2003) and Karen Lou Staley (1943 to 2013) in Portland, Oregon on March 5, 1966. Jimmy made the most of his incredible life. His accomplishments were impressive, including participation in five different sports (weight lifting, swimming, track, golf and bowling ) while active in Special Olympics. He was also a dedicated volunteer in his community. As a working adult, Jimmy flourished; his infectious smile greeted one and all. It is said that he never met a single stranger. In 2011, a dream was realized that made Jimmy very proud... He became a home owner. He filled that home with pictures of his friends and family, whom he cherished so much. Jimmy lived a life full of love. His passions included music, traveling, his pets, singing karaoke, and even a bit of gambling in Reno! He was an expert at UNO and Go Fish, rarely losing to even the most dedicated opponent. He is survived by his Aunts Rhonda, Barb and Carolyn, and many cousins, who all miss him very much. To know Jimmy was to love Jimmy. A private internment was be held at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland Oregon. Open to friends and family will be a memorial service/celebration of life, March 19, 2017 at Lakeside Gardens, 16211 SE. Foster Rd., Portland, OR 97236, from 11:00am until 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Arc Oregon, 2405 Front Street NE, Suite 120 Salem, OR 97301. There will also be two concerts held in Jimmy's memory on April 9 at Aspen Meadow Dome, 24232 S. Upper Highland Rd. Colton, OR 97017. Come celebrate, with song, the amazing life Jimmy shared with us all. Any donations collected at the shows will go to the Aspen Deaf Camp, in Jimmy's honor.
