James G. Herrle was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He attended a Catholic grade school and Benson High School. After Benson he under took an apprenticeship as a plumber. His apprenticeship- training took him to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, where he was, when the Japanese bombed Dutch Harbor in June of 1942. In December of 1942 he married Doreen Labo and had two children, Gary and Carol. He is survived by his children, three grand-children and eight great grand-children. His first career as a plumber lasted until his early sixties. He enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing and bowling. His second career started in his mid- sixties, when he became an apartment manager. His history in the building trades served him well as a plumber, carpenter, electrician, painter and general handyman during the twenty years as an apartment manager."",
