James Patrick Faherty loved his family and friends. He was a proud Irish man who loved every moment of life that God granted him.
Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rilla; children, Debbie, Shelly, Colleen, Tricia and Jimmy; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary; and brothers, Tom and John who will miss him greatly. His daughter, Kathy, preceded him in death in 1969.
Jim's parents, Tom and Mary, emigrated from Ireland and grew up in Central Oregon and Portland. Jim loved adventure and the outdoors. Taking every opportunity to raft, he went over Sherars Falls on the Deschutes River in 1972, navigated the Deschutes River hundreds of times, went on trips to South Junction, hiked the hills at South and enjoyed over 40 years of camping at Scout Lake.
Jim's lifes work was in the grain industry, managing grain elevators on the Willamette, at Louis Dreyfus, Kerr Grain and Bunge in Portland.
We will miss you dearly Jim, our husband, dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. We love you so much! Enjoy the rapids in heaven with Kathy, Dad.
