James Edward Coombs

JAMES EDWARD COOMBS III August 16, 1955 - February 28, 2009 Jim was born in Portland to James E. Jr. and Ramona Coombs. He married Terri Betz in 1974. Jim graduated from Clackamas High School in 1973,served four years in the US Coast Guard, and was a faithful PGE employee for the past 31 years. Jim was passionate about his faith in the Lord, his family, and his work as a lineman. He was diagnosed in June 2003 with colon cancer and fought the disease for five and a half years before it took his life. He is survived by his wife, mother Ramona, sister Kim, and daughters and sons-in-law Scott and Melissa Galloway, Scott and Stephanie Smith,and Donovan and Emily Chandler. A celebration of Jim\u0027s life will be at 10:00 am Thursday, March 5th at SouthLake Church, 1555 SW Borland Rd, West Linn. There will be a private family burial following the service at Willamette National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to SouthLake Nicaragua Mission Fund in memory of James Coombs."",
