Immegien \u0027Emmy\u0027 Miller-Van Der Meulen died unexpectedly in Portland, Oregon on December 2, 2016 at the age of 69. Emmy is survived by her husband Thomas Gary Miller, daughters Tina Smith and Donna Heard and son Gary Miller. She also had two son-in-laws, Chris Smith and Joshua Heard. She had eight grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Jacob Miller, Joshua Miller, Christopher Smith, Nicole Smith, Alex Smith, Ashley Fivecoats, and Joshua Heard. She also had two great grandchildren, Jaelah Pifer and Elijah Smith. She is preceded in death by her siblings: sister Alice Fernandez and brothers Pete, Ralph, and Dick Van Der Meulen. Emmy was born on March 2nd, 1947 in Beilen, Netherlands, to Dictus and Tini Van Der Meulen. She graduated from Mayfair High School in 1965. In 1967, she married Thomas Gary Miller. In 1969 they moved to Clackamas, Oregon where she was a stay at home mother to their three children. Emmy was a generous woman who loved her family and everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by everyone who loved her. A celebration of life for Emmy Miller will be held at the VFW at 7118 SE Fern Ave. in Portland, Oregon on December 16th from 3:30 to 7:30pm. This event will be a potluck dinner and all are welcome to attend. A special \u0026quot;Thank You\u0026quot; to family and friends of Emmy Miller for all the kind words and condolences.
