Ila Vinita Sliger March 5th 1911 - September 15th 2016 Ila was born and raised in Lebanon, OR. She was chosen the Strawberry Festival Queen, and was a member of the 4H Club, winning first place for her sewing skills. After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1929 she met her husband Floyd Sliger. They were married on September 7, 1938. Ila and Floyd moved to Seaside, OR where she worked as a telephone operator during the war. After moving to Portland, OR they adopted twins Stephen Houston and Carol Ann in January 1953. Ila was a member of the Mayflower society and her ancestry can be traced to the first landing at Plymouth Rock. Ila lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by her family and friends. She passed peacefully in her Milwaukie home where she had resided for 57 years. Ila was preceded in death by Husband Floyd Houston Sliger and Brother Wilford Burrell. She is survived by Daughter Carol Ann, Son Stephen Houston and his wife Gwen, Grandchildren Samuel Houston, Kristin Nichole, and Corrie Anne. She also had three Great Grandchildren. During her 105 years of life Ila touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed."",
