Howard Clair Easton

August 12, 1927 — January 7, 2016

Howard Clair Easton, son of Carl King and Lillian Britt Easton, born August 12, 1927 at St Joseph's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa passed peacefully January 7, 2015.

As many senior high school students did, he talked his mother into letting him join the Navy at the age of 17 following the enlistment of his two older brothers. Howard served in the Navy as an Ordnance Specialist loading munitions. He then joined the SIU and sailed under the Union of the Pacific.

He went on to marry Margaret Lenore Hoffman in 1950 and they raised six children, Kathy, Karen and husband, Denny, Joe, Patty, Jim and wife, Cheryle, and Pam and husband, Mike. He had six grandchildren; Jamie, Michael, Kyle, Jordan, Emily and Nick and three great-grandchildren; Josie, Jack and Rose.

Howard lived in Milwaukie at the same house for almost 60 years. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and was especially proud of his tomatoes.

He was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, services will be held there on Thursday, January 14, 2016 with a Prayer of the Rosary at 10:00 followed by general services at 10:30 am.
