Hermann was born in Germany and often referred to himself as \u0026quot;Hermann the German.\u0026quot; The 5th of 9 children, he immigrated to Canada in 1955 where he met and married Gertrude Pisko in 1961. They celebrated 50 years of marriage last August. A talented brick and stone mason, he ran Hermann\u0027s masonry for 26 years and later became a building inspector. Hobbies included wine making, gardening, hiking, photography and mushroom hunting. He was a life member of both the Oregon Mycological Society and the German American Society. His positive attitude and ready sense of humor will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife Gertrude, son Robert, daughter Linda Hungerford and her husband Ben, 5 grandchildren and brothers Joe, Al and Henry and sisters Maria and Anna. He will be laid to rest on Tuesday August 7 with Rosary at 10:30 am and Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10955 SE 25th Ave, Milwaukie, OR 97222.
