Gloria Mae Stevens

April 1, 1927 — January 13, 2022

Gloria Mae Stevens April 1, 1927 - January 13, 2022 Gloria entered into her heavenly home on January 13, 2022. She was born in Minot, North Dakota to Art and Laura (Pederson) Zimmerman. She moved with her father to Oregon City and attended McLoughlin Institute and Oregon City High School, graduating in 1945. After completing high school, she enrolled in the Cadet Nurse Corps at Providence Hospital and obtained her LPN. She spent over 40 years working as an office nurse, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Gloria married Howard Stevens in 1948 and they had 4 children: Dennis, who predeceased her (Joyce), Donna (Lee), Laurie and David; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. Her family brought her much joy. Gloria spent many years singing in the Milwaukie Lutheran Church choir with Howard. She taught Sunday School, Bible School and served on many committees. She also volunteered as a Cub Scout den leader for her oldest son and was proud that a number of her cubbies attained the rank of Eagle Scout, as well as her two sons and two of her grandsons. Over the years, Gloria lovingly cared for many family members, neighbors and others who needed her help. She had a big heart, a strong faith and was loved by many. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26, at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 7810 SE 15th, Portland, Oregon. A reception with a light lunch will follow in the fellowship hall. Remembrances can be made to the Milwaukie Community Center or to Samaritan's Purse."",
