Gloria R. Engler of Milwaukie, Oregon passed away on September 8, 2020. She was born January 28, 1939 in South Bend, Indiana and grew up in Portland, Oregon. She had one older sister, Georgia Ireland who preceded her in death.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 40 years, Art Engler. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She is also survived by three sons, David McCrary, Mychal McCrary and Mark Walton. Her son, Jimmie preceded her in death in 1999. Also surviving are Candie Engler Burelson and Cindi Engler, Art's daughters whom Gloria was very close to and always treated as her own.
Between Gloria's sons and daughters, she had 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was the most loving grandmother a child could have. She also had a special place in her heart for her nieces, Chris, Shannon and Lori; as well as her nephew, Robbie.
Gloria enjoyed working outside the home for most of her adult life. After her children were born, and with the support of her mother, Georgianna Glynn, Gloria continued working at various companies, including Montgomery Ward and eventually Portland Wells Fargo, from where she retired. She developed a long term working relationship with her boss, Mike Foglia, and even went back to work for him at Wells Fargo after she had accepted retirement.
She loved her family very much and will be missed dearly.
A visitation will be 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 and Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Stehn Family Chapels in Milwaukie, Oregon. Private interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
