Gerald Mckenna ""Jerry""

June 12, 1939 — May 16, 2014

GERALD MC KENNA FOY was born June 12, 1939. He was the youngest of 8 children, including his twin brother Francis. Jerry attended St. John the Baptist School through 8th Grade, and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957. He went to work for his brother, Jim Foy, in construction, and then was with Westwood Construction for 40 years as a commercial development project manager. Jerry and his childhood sweetheart, Gerri Gauger, were married for 55 years and have two sons, Ken and Bryan, and daughter-in-law Mia Anderson Foy. Jerry was very involved in his community, serving on the Sanitary and North Clackamas Parks boards, and his leadership was instrumental in the effort to build the new Head Start school on River Road in Milwaukie. A member of the parish Finance Council at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, he was responsible for the strategic maintenance plan for both the church and school, most recently coordinating the church roof renovation project. His relationships with community and government leaders and understanding of local ordinances put him in a unique position to help shepherd major projects through the land use bureaucracy and red tape. On May 16th, Jerry passed away with his family at his side. His health had declined over the last year, but true to his style he attended community meetings almost up to the last day. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th @ 12 Noon @ St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Milwaukie. Private inurnment will be @ Gethsemani Catholic Cemetery."",
