Fredrick Gerald Thomson

December 28, 1921 — August 5, 2011

Mr. Thomson passed away in Molalla, OR. He was born in Grand Forks, ND, to Fredrick Thomson and Lolus Griffin. The family moved to the Portland area in 1923. Fred graduated from Benson High School in 1939. After graduation he served his country as a member of the US Army from 1942 to 1945. He spent time in the Aleutian Islands and the European Theaters, serving in a field artillery unit. Fred and June were joined in marriage November 10, 1945. After returning from his tour of duty, Fred started working as a machinist for Pierce-Pacific Manufacturing Co. and retired in 1977. He remained active in his community by committing 52 years of service and dedicationas a member of the American Legion Post 180, a member of Portland VFW Post 4248, and over 60 years as a member of the Machinist Local 1005. Fred was also a former member of the Milwaukie Elks, and the Good Sam Clackamas Camper\u0027s RV Club. Fred is survived by his wife, June Thomson; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Dale Neddeau, all of Oregon City; grandchildren, Jason (Suzi) Jewett and Lisa Jewett; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob, Sami, Brody and Skye; and sister, Evelyn Hickey. Visitation will be from 9AM to 4PM, Thursday, August 11, 2011, and from 9AM till Noon, Friday August 12, 2011, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00PM in Peake Funeral Chapel, Milwaukie, OR, and concluding with a reception at 3:00 PM in the Milwaukie American Legion. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer\u0027s Association in care of Peake Funeral Chapel."",
