Frederick Krebs, a longtime resident of the Portland area, died in Milwaukie, OR on May 22nd. Frederick was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. As a young boy, he immigrated to the United States along with his family and settled in Portland, OR. In 1942, he married Louise M. Buscho with whom he had three children: Frederick D. Krebs, Sharie Briede and Christie Osborn.
Frederick served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a topographic draftsman. After the war, he went to work for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and ultimately became a Contracts Administrator. He retired at the age of 57 and worked for himself as a handyman doing home repair and remodeling projects. His interests included singing in a men's chorus and barbershop quartets, and playing sports such as softball, golf, and tennis (his favorite).
He is survived by his three children, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his long-time companion, Nina Halverson. Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Krebs and Anna Riehmer Krebs; his brothers, William, Ernest and Harold; his sister, Mildred Krebs Gaylord and his half-sister, Elsie Krebs.
