She attended Philippine School of Arts and Trades in Manila, Philippines. While attending college, she met her husband, Andres, and after a short courtship they were married in 1959 at Our Lady of Victories Church. Prior to moving to the United States in 1985, she raised her five children (all boys) in the Philippines. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone who knows them could tell that she was a star in their eyes, and that's all that ever mattered to her. Filomena was an exceptional wife and mother. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She loved gardening, cooking and enjoyed spending time with the family dog, Ivory."",
