Eleanor Corder passed away peacefully from natural causes June 12, 2023, in Milwaukie, Oregon. She was two days away from her 85th birthday.
Eleanor was born June 14, 1938, in Victoria, B.C. Canada. She graduated from Victoria High School. In her early 20s, she visited family in the U.S. and met Leon Corder, who she married on May 6, 1961. They had three children.
Before marrying, she was a stenographer. After marriage, she and Lee owned and operated a rental business and three Portland area service stations. In the last years of her career, she was a medical billing specialist. After retirement, she stayed active. She enjoyed outings with friends, bowling, swimming, coastal camping, gardening, knitting, and reading. She adored her family and got so much joy out of her grandkids, who called her "Gammie".
Eleanor is survived by her brother Alan; sons, David and Robert; son-in-law, Marc; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon and daughter, Linda.
A funeral will be held at 12:00pm on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Stehn Family Chapels Milwaukie Tribute Center; followed by a Celebration of Life at Robert's home in Oregon City. Private interment later.
