Elaine Frances Powers, age 83, died peacefully on August 6, 2022, in Milwaukie, OR.
Born Elaine Frances Knosalla in Staples, MN on March 5, 1939, she was raised in Portland, Oregon after her family relocated to the area during World War II.
She married Paul B. Powers, in Portland, Oregon, on August 29th, 1959. Later they divorced but eventually transitioned to being on good terms with each other, for the rest of her life.
She is survived by her brother, Bob (Robert) C. Knosalla of San Marcos, CA; children, Charlie H. Powers of Vancouver, WA, Kevin J. Powers of Oberbach, Germany, Elena R. M. Powers of Delta Junction, AK and her youngest child, Paul B. Powers II of Longview, TX; grandsons, Patrick Powers, and Benjamin Powers; granddaughters, Jennifer Powers, Melissa Powers, Suzanne Powers, Rachel Sorrels, and Natascha Powers; and her 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Cynthia R. Powers and Dorine J. Sorrels (Powers); and her parents, Henry P. Knosalla and Blanchie H. Baxter (Knosalla).
She was an avid crafter and loved the Christmas season, the outdoors and especially the Oregon beaches. She desired to be cremated and her family will follow her final wishes in a private gathering. Her family requests any thoughtful gestures be directed to her memory, in any respectful way, of the giver's choosing.
