Edna Cafferty Beecher

January 12, 1914 — April 15, 2014

Edna was born January 12th 1914 at Oakley, Idaho, daughter of Walter Decker Cafferty and Clarinda (Clara) Allen.  She was a life long member of the LDS church and formally active in the Milwaukie Ward.

She is survived by her son, Walter Beecher; daughter, Josie Hileman; step-sons, Duane Beecher and Robert Beecher; 26 grandchildren and a numerous amounts of great and great great grandchildren.

Edna spent most of her childhood on the farm in Thatcher, Idaho where she loved driving a six horse hay wagon. She loved living on the farm.  She was Salutatorian of her schools graduating class; she always said it helped to be the only student in her 7th or 8th grade class.

Edna worked for several months for the Davis family to make money to go to beauty school in Ogden, Utah. For those who don't know, Davis' daughter Olive is the mother of the "Osmond's". While going to beauty school she worked as a waitress at the railroad café/restaurant where she met her husband Paul, where he worked as a cook. They also worked a summer in west Yellowstone at the railroad café. After marrying they moved to Grass Valley , California.  They moved to Portland, Oregon due to the war. They had always planned to go back to Grass Valley but they ended up staying. Edna always loved the Pacific Northwest.

Her passions were gardening, quilt making and genealogy. She and Paul served on a mission together. Edna loved going to the temple. One of her greatest joys was to become a temple worker.

Edna loved, and was greatly loved by her family and friends. She led a blessed life and she will be sorely missed. We love you mom, grandma, and great grandma!
