On April 3rd 2014 Dorothy Marie Walden went home to our Lord after a short battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Hugel Walden, her mother and father, James and Maude Ferrell, 3 older brothers and 3 older sisters. She has 2 living children, Joyce A. Yaws and her husband, Samuel L Yaws of Park Hill, OK; also Larry Walden of Portland Oregon and Jenny Walden of Gresham, OR whom she loved very much and supported her during her stay in Oklahoma. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great grandchildren. Dorothy was born Dorothy Marie Ferrell on July 12, 1924 in Emory Texas to James and Maude Ferrell. Her early years were spent in Holdenville, Oklahoma where she met Hugel Walden. On November 5, 1943 she married Hugel in Portland, Oregon while he was stationed in the Army. Dorothy lived in Holdenville, OK during Hugel's three years in the Army. After Hugel's Army discharge, they lived in various places in California. In the 80's they moved to Portland Oregon where Hugel worked as a custodian for Columbia Christian College. After Hugel's death she lived in Milwaukie Oregon and in 2007 moved to Park Hill Oklahoma to be with her daughter and son in law, Joyce and Sam Yaws. Her last years of life she missed Hugel immensely but was comforted with her association with Burnt Cabin Christian Youth Camp where she enjoyed her association with the kids at the camp and her grand kids that yearly came to camp. She also was involved on a daily basis with Cherokee Elder Care where she spent time with other elderly people. At one point she was known as the "Domino Queen" at the care center. She truly loved her time spent at the center and they loved her. She was a member of Linwood Church of Christ in Milwaukie Oregon and prior to Hugel's death they belonged to Kingswood Church of Christ. After Hugel's death while she lived in the Portland area and continued to attend Kingswood Church of Christ. In Oklahoma she was a member of the South College Church of Christ in Taulequah, OK. She was loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends. She will be missed by all of us."",
