Dorothy J. Tribble passed away on May 22, 2024, soon after celebrating her 95th birthday. She was born in Royalton, Minnesota on April 6, 1929, to Helen and Milton Hutchinson.
Dorothy was the oldest in a family of 4 girls, with a lineup of Doris, Beverly, and Mary Jane following her as younger sisters. From those three sisters, she leaves behind many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, … AND great grandnieces and great grandnephews who love her dearly.
Dorothy graduated from Roosevelt HS in Portland, Oregon in June of 1946. She then attended Oregon State University and Portland State University. She married Dewey "Bud" Tribble on April 3, 1954. Dorothy was employed by Shell Oil company for 8 years and Portland Public Schools for 21 years. She and Bud bought their newly built home on Adams Street in Milwaukie, Oregon in 1960 where she lived her entire life. Her lifelong partner, Bud, passed away at 56 years young in 1986 after 32 years of marriage. Facing this tragedy head on, Dorothy worked hard at creating an independent life filled with many adventures.
Dorothy jotted down a list of her activities and interests that she wants shared. These include:
Family and friends, dogs, traveling, bridge, cooking, drawing and painting, hiking and fishing, clamming at her beach house, watching sports and movies, gardening and reading. She also wants to share her love of travel and the places she has been: Various parts of the USA, Europe 8 times, New Zealand, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada, and The Caribbean.
Dorothy will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon with her husband on Friday, September 20th, 2024, at 11:15 am.
