Doris Shier passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015 at the spry age of 91 after suffering a traumatic fall. She was a much loved mother, grandmother and sister living in Milwaukie OR for over 50 years. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in Milwaukie right up to the end. Doris was one of six children born to Alphonse and Rose Brunelle on their family farm outside of Horace, North Dakota on February 19, 1924. She met her husband Donald Shier, while attending school in the small community of Wild Rice, ND. They married in 1945 following Don\u0027s service in the US Navy during World War II and would have shared 70 years of loving life together had he not preceded her in death in 1981. After raising her two children, Doris earned her nursing license in 1970 and set out on a career at Eastmoreland General Hospital. Her loving care touched many lives before and after her retirement. Doris is survived by her children, Daniel Shier and Doreen (Shier) Fairweather (Russ), three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers Jerome Brunelle and Clayton Brunelle (Doris), and many nieces and nephews."",
