Donald Victor Ives, son of Herbert and Loretia (McDonald) Ives was born October 19, 1924 in Milwaukie, Oregon. After his father's death he was raised by his stepfather, Robert Schuknecht. Don passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Don was a life-long resident of Milwaukie. He attended Wichita Grade School, Milwaukie Junior High and was in the class of 1943 at Milwaukie High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp (Co. C 1875th Eng. Avn. Bn.) in China, Burma and India during WWII, serving 3 years. He then served 3 years in the Oregon National Guard. On June 10, 1946 he married Gloria J. Tatone and they were married for 67 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Milwaukie, Milwaukie Elks Lodge #2032 (48 yrs) and Sons of Norway Grieg Lodge. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling and many other hobbies. Don is survived by his wife; daughter, Kathleen Neubauer (Keith); son, Gary Ives (Mari); grandsons, Brian (Meloney Crawford), Mark, Kelsey (Anna) Neubauer, Jonathan and Christopher Ives; brother-in-law, Ronald Tatone (Annette) and cousin, Barbara Anderson.
