Born February 9, 1934 and passed away October 16,1924
Don was born in Stockton, California to H. Richard and Katherine Adams. He lived in California until he attended Oregon State University, majoring in civil engineering. Don met his soulmate, Kathleen, and they were married after graduation in 1955. Don and Kathleen started their married life by completing Don’s ROTC service commitment to the Marine Corp, before settling in Salem where Don worked for the Oregon State Highway Department.
Don and his family moved several times as he moved up through the highway department. He lived in Milwaukie for the past 55 years, attending St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Before and after retiring in 1993, Don was very involved with St. John's. He kept himself busy organizing and executing the yearly Christmas food and gift boxes. He worked with both St. Vincent de Paul within St. John's and at the Portland office. Don delivered Meals on Wheels for years. Don was always planning and organizing from traveling to yearly vegetable gardens. He was an avid reader of all things, liked spending time outdoors and especially liked the yearly trips to the beach with Kathleen.
Don is survived by his 5 children, Richard, Susan, Bob, Pat, Carol, 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was the last remaining family member of his generation and will be greatly missed by all.
