Dennis Collins Mecklem

Dennis C. Mecklem was born in Portland Oregon to Kenneth and Beatrice Mecklem on September 24, 1930. Dennis was raised in Oak Grove, attended Oak Grove Elementary, graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1948, and the University Of Oregon in 1953 where he was a member of the Delta Epsilon Fraternity. Dennis married Barbara Ann Charles on January 23, 1954 and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage until her passing in 1996. Dennis worked for several government agencies as a Grain Inspector He and Barbara moved to Gladstone in 1957 where they raised their children. He lived there for the rest of his life. Dennis served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 40 years. He was a member of the Gladstone Christian Church and the Gladstone Lions Club. He is survived by his son Keith (Deborah) Mecklem, daughters; Holly Andersen (Mark), Karil Schaefer (Jeff), and Kaye Muffenbier. There are 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service is Saturday, May 30, 2015 @ 1:30 PM in the Gladstone Christian Church at 305 E. Dartmouth St. in Gladstone, OR."",
