Dannie N. Steffens

Dannie Steffens grew up in Southeast Portland and graduated from Cleveland High School.  He started working with his dad at Bud's Auto Supply at an early age.  After high school he married Rae Romine. They had three children and later divorced.  Dannie continued to own and run Bud's Auto Supply until the mid 1980's.

Dannie had a passion for living!  He made everyone feel like a friend.  He visited Disneyland and Reno on a regular basis.  He enjoyed racing and raced a variety of on-road and off-road vehicles.  As a young man he also enjoyed working on cars.  Dannie was always friendly and happy, never having a bad word to say. He spent many years working as an usher at Blazer's games and other events in Portland.  He also worked at Electro-Chem Metal Finishing in Portland.

He is survived by his companion, Peggy Snedeker and her sister Nancy Snedeker, both of Portland; son, Dannie of Sherwood; daughter, Jennie Steffens of Portland; brother, Brad of Portland; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Dannie was preceded in death by his son, Jamie in 2000; his brother, Allen and his parents, Bud and Esther.
