Crystal R. Carpenter

A burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery for Crystal R. Carpenter who died March 10 th 2010 at the age of 88. Mrs. Carpenter was born on September 27, 1921 in Lamar, Colorado. Her maiden name was Sills. Her father and mother were Homer A. Sills and Grace May Dooley who lived in Quapaw, Oklahoma. Crystal and William D. Carpenter were married in Claimore, Oklahoma on June 22, 1970. They came to Portland on September 25, 1944. They owned and operated a restaurant and bar in Portland, Sandy, and Vancouver, WA. Even after William\u0027s death on Sept. 02, 1940, Crystal kept working until she retired at age 65 from the restaurant business, then Crystal became a caregiver for senior citizens until she was 80. Survivors include her son Dale Carpenter, his wife and two grandchildren, Daniel and Kaylan who live in Hillsboro, Oregon. Crystal has 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
