Connie Joan Sheets

Connie Joan Sheets was born in Agra, Kansas on January 2, 1930 to Ivan and Ruby DuBois. After graduating from Agra High School, she attended Kansas State University earning a B.S. Degree in Medical Technology in 1952. She continued her education with two years of internship at Minneapolis General Hospital in Minnesota.On August 9, 1953 she married Arden Sheets of Burlington, Kansas, in the Danforth All Faiths Chapel on the campus of Kansas State University. Her first employer was the Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana working as a Medical Technician. After Arden\u0027s discharge from the U.S. Air Force, they moved to Vancouver, Washington. There she continued to work as a Medical Technician at Vancouver Memorial and St. Joseph\u0027s hospitals.In 1959 they moved to the North Willamete Research Station, a horticultural research facility of Oregon State University, in Aurora, Oregon. For the the next 17 years, she was a full time mother and wife, and worked part time at the Station. She was active in the United Methodist Church woman\u0027s group (UMW) in Canby, in addition was a Den Mother for Cub Scout pack 505. Connie was very accomplished at sewing, making many clothes for the family,fancy needle work, and cake decorating.The family moved to Hillsboro, Oregon in 1976. There she worked as a tax consultant for H\u0026amp;R Block, retiring in 1992. She continued her activity in the Methodist woman\u0027s group, and was a member of the Tualatin Valley Garden Club, serving on the board. Connie loved her flowers and enjoyed very much spending time in the gardens. She enjoyed traveling. In addition to having been to all 50 states, she and Arden left their footprints in over 40 foreign countries. They vacationed many years on their favorite Hawaiian island, Kauai.Connie is survived, by her husband Arden, son Brady and wife Patricia of Hillsboro, son Robert (Rusty) and wife Ellen of Herndon, Virginia, grandson Brendan and granddaughter Molly."",
