Charles ""Chuck"" L. Rea

May 22, 1947 — December 25, 2015

Chuck kept his date with our Lord Jesus Christ on December 25. He was 68 years old. He is survived by his wife, his brother, four daughters, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He was also an adopted Dad/Grandpa to a daughter and her three boys.

Chuck was born and raised in the Portland metro area. He grew up taking public transit and thus began his love of buses, trains, and cars. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965. After high school, Chuck served in the Army as a medic in Germany. Upon returning from duty, he held various jobs in film, photography, and lighting.

He married Kay in April of 1974 and was father to Jennifer, Sasha, Ceri, and Tiffany. In the mid 1970's he switched career paths and traded one kind of film for another-Xray. Chuck began working at X-ray Inc., of Oregon and over the years performed every job in the office-from purchasing to sales, servicing processors to mixing chemistry. He ended his career with retirement at the age of 65 from Merry X-ray. In his mid-50's he met Sherry and her sons through the preschool ministry at Milwaukie First Baptist Church and the family adopted him as Grandpa.

Chuck also enjoyed serving in the church and the Masonic lodge. He put his passion to work building sets for drama performances and hanging/running lighting, and singing at Valley View Evangelical Church, New Hope Community Church and Milwaukie First Baptist/GracePointe Church. He also drove the bus for many different camps and youth activities. He was a past Master at Cornerstone lodge in SE Portland and a secretary for the Milwaukie Masonic Lodge.
