Carolyn was the first born to Edith and Elmon Cloward in Parma, Idaho. October 5, 1931. She was the eldest of three, she had two brothers both now deceased. The first ten years of Carolyn's life was spent in Hood River, Oregon in a small community of Central Vale, living on an apple orchard. Carolyn was a student at Central Vale Elementary School. The family moved to Prineville, Oregon for one year and then moved to Portland, Oregon. While living in Portland Oregon, Carolyn attended Buckman Elementary School. The family moved again to Milwaukie, Oregon where Carolyn attended Milwaukie Junior High School and Milwaukie Union High School. Carolyn graduated high school in 1950. While in high school her father owned a service station in Milwaukie and there were many occasions that she assisted her father pumping gas as he attended to the garage servicing his customers as a mechanic. During her high school years, she was usherette on the weekends at the local Victory Theater downtown Milwaukie. Carolyn met the love of her life James (Jim), while she was in high school. They were married July 22,1951 in St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Milwaukie. Carolyn worked for the Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company as an Information Operator the first two years of their marriage. They lived in Portland, Oregon for seven years before moving back to Milwaukie. Carolyn was a homemaker, avid reader and attentive mother and an active church member in her church. She had a wonderful marriage and it reflected in the daily activities of creating a wonderful homelife of balance and love for their children. Carolyn is survived by (dau) Catherine Hayes (Ricky), (dau),Cynthia Miller (Jim), (son), Joseph Orrell (Connie), (son) Jon Orrell, (Linda). 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She traveled with her husband Jim upon his retirement and enjoyed visiting with family, and friends. After the death of her husband Carolyn spent the remaining years living next door to her daughter. The two spent many years as companions until her daughter took over as her caregiver. Carolyn passed away in her home from Parkinsonism. She will be remembered for her physical and inner beauty, gentle warmth and care for others. She had a way of making people like they were celebrity whenever they visited with her and she always had some kind of dessert and beverage waiting for her visitors. Carolyn attributes in life was her incredible sense of balance, good mood, beautiful smile, sweet voice,and unconditional love for others. She will be greatly missed in this world by all who knew her."",
