Carol Jeanne Vaughan, known by most as Jeanne, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2017. She was 94. Carol Jeanne Brown was the only daughter of Nellie (Vance) and John Johnstone Brown, and the second of four children. She was born on November 3, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Karol Elmore and Cathy Dvorak, her grandsons, Jerrad, (Cathy Liberty) and Nicholas Elmore, and her great granddaughter, Olivia. She is also survived by her youngest brother Jack Lamont Brown and his wife, Wanda (Bay), of Everett, Washington, as well as, her many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Grover Brown (Laverne Novack) and Donald Lewis Brown (Jane Rhodes) and their wives. Jeanne was a Wave in the US Naval Reserve, serving from February 1944 to March 1946. After her recruit training in New York and another eight weeks of training in Cedar Falls, Iowa, she was stationed in San Diego, California. Jeanne lived in the Schnitzer (Clay) Tower for nearly twenty-years, and had owned and had owned and operated the Maple Lane Day School in Milwaukee, Oregon, from 1978 until 1994 She moved to Gresham in 2015. Jeanne Vaughan was a life-long follower of Christian Science, having been an active member in the Medford Church, Tenth and Sixth Churches, in Portland, and had been attending the Gresham Church. since 2015.
