Carol Anne Sumpter was born on June 27, 1939 and passed away on May 5, 2024. She was born in Bend, Oregon and was the only child of Guy Duncan and Ella Duncan (Cottengim).
Carol graduated from American High School in 1957. During her high school years, she enjoyed band and played the clarinet. From 1944 to 1965, Carol grew up in Lincoln City where her career in banking started in 1958 with Lincoln Bank. She then moved to Portland, Oregon and worked for U.S. Bank for 29 years and retired in 1994. But that didn’t stop her from continuing her banking career. Carol went on to work for Merchants Bank and then Lewis and Clark Bank. Carol will be immensely missed by her family, friends, and neighbors.
Preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Robert Sumpter, and her granddaughter, Ryelle Sumpter. Carol is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and David Sumpter, and daughter-in-law, Trang Sumpter. Carol was a kind and loving wife and mother, and will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Connor and his wife Kaitlyn, Jacob, Dani, and Gabi.
The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10:00am, at the Stehn Family Chapels Milwaukie Tribute Center in Milwaukie, Oregon. A brief reception follows.
