Carol Jo Newburn

January 21, 1943 — February 23, 2021

Carol Newburn passed away February 23rd in her home in Newberg, OR at the age of 78.  Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy; father, Roy; and brother, Dennis.  She is survived by her husband, Don; sister, Norma; children, Philip and Dana; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Carol Jo Price was born in Stilwell, OK January 21, 1943.  As a child her family re-located to Fortuna, CA where she grew and eventually met her husband and life-long companion, Donald Newburn.  Carol and Don were married July 14, 1962 at the Nazarene Church in Fortuna, CA.  As a young Navy family, the Newburns moved often and at various times called San Diego, CA, Norfolk, VA, Pearl Harbor, HI, Seattle, WA, Fortuna, CA and Midway Island their home.

It was while living on Midway Island in 1976 that Carol made the most important decision a person can make. It was here Carol gave her life to Jesus Christ and from that point forward determined to honor Him and share His love with others!

In 1989 Carol and Don retired, sold their small business in California and moved to Newberg, OR.  Carol was very active in their local church and led a women's bible study for Ladd Hill Church for 25 years.  She was also a member of Women's Aglow ministry and helped lead worship and praise for the children at her church.

Carol was a prayer warrior and self-less mother and wife.  She lived well, loved well and helped lead both her children to know The Lord as well.  She fought the good fight and can now rest peacefully in the arms of her wonderful Savior!
