Blanche Hardy Dirker

Blanche Hardy Dirker, aged 92, died peacefully on March 4th, 2013, at the home of her brother, Thomas Hardy. Blanche was born September 21, 1920 in Spearfish SD, the daughter of William Rufus and Pearl Forrest Hardy. During her life she worked in radio and was active in Portland city government. Blanche lived her life wholeheartedly, with interests including opera and classical music, photography, ceramics and porcelain doll making, and even raising parakeets. Blanche is survived by her son Vincent W. Calhoun and his wife Carol, grandchildren Lisa Marie Calhoun and Vincent K. Calhoun, and brothers Russ, Tom, and Gene Hardy. She will be missed. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23rd, Riverview Abbey 0319 SW Taylors Ferry Road in Portland.
