Alice Irene Kreitler Kreitler, Alice Irene 90 05/30/1920 09/15/2010 Alice Reed was born to William G. and Helen Devoy Reed, and was the sister of Madeleine Reed Coleman. Alice is survived by her children, Patricia Kreitler of Milwaukie; Susan Skinner of Greeley, Colo.; and John Kreitler of Los Angeles; and grand-children, Chelsea Davis, Abigail Stumvoll, and John Chase Kreitler. Alice was born in Fremont, Neb., where she attended Midland College. She moved to Portland during World War II, where she worked in the shipyards and met John U. Kreitler, whom she married in 1943. She had studied piano as a child and became a piano teacher, public music teacher in the Oak Grove School District, and church organist. She was the dean of the Portland chapter of the American Guild of Organists from 1975 to 1977, and served as church organist at Milwaukie Lutheran Church from 1951 to 1973 and from 1979 to 1983. Alice earned a master of music degree from Lewis \u0026amp; Clark College, and a second master\u0027s degree in church music (organ major) from Westminster Choir College in 1974. She was a loving mother and grandmother who wanted to be remembered, \u0026quot;as a church musician who did strive constantly towards a goal of perfecting music to the glory of God.\u0026quot; A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, in Peake Funeral Chapel, 1925 S.E. Scott St., Milwaukie."",
